Hello, Dolly! the Musical from an Actress’s Perspective

Lyme Old Lyme High School’s musical, Hello Dolly, is almost here! The musical is directed by LOLHS’s Latin teacher, Mr. Motes. Mr. Wilson has been in charge of music by teaching us our songs, and Mrs. Bethany taught us our choreography. Being a part of this musical for the last few months has been so much fun. Musical practice started out with the cast playing games and creating backgrounds for their characters, such as their full names and life stories. We started the rehearsal in November and have made a lot of progress since. Musical rehearsal has most recently consisted of singing, dancing and blocking, which is when the director moves on to the next scene, and actos are re positioned on the stage. As we are approaching the end, the work has been more intense. For example, during the past week, stage crew has been building and painting sets, and the cast has been getting fitted for their multiple costumes. All of the people involved in this production have been putting a lot of hard work and effort into making the musical great. Everything is being pieced together in these last few weeks and the final product is going to be amazing. The musical is on March 10th at 7:30pm, March 11th at 7:30pm, and March 12th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. Reserved tickets are listed at $15 for adults/students $12 and for seniors (62+), and unreserved tickets will cost $10, and are bought at the door for cash only. Hope to see you all there!
