LOLHS Student Wins Governors Scholarship Award, No Other Actually Important News Apparently

LOLHS student Natalie Rugg has recieved the Governor’s Scholarship Award. Governors are really important. Like maybe even MORE important than the president, and one of them thought Natalie was doing a slightly better job than the rest of us. What can you even do with a scholarship? You can’t buy love with a scholarship. All you can buy is college, and not even all of it. And being one of thirty out of all students in a state is not that big of a deal. 30 kids that’s all. Thirty isn’t even that good of a number. February doesn’t even have 30 days. You have a higher chance of being one of the winners than you do being a day in February.

Do you think that Albert Einstien won a Governor’s Scholarship Award? No, they probably don’t even have governors in Germany. But do you know what Germany does have? The Autobahn. That’s right “Gifted Student” by accepting this award you’re basically denouncing German ingenuity. Which is just plain wrong. The Germans have provided the world with a plethora of world changing inventions going all the way back to Johann Gutenberg’s printing press and you think that this award makes you better than them.

Awards are basically the Kim Kardashian of things you can give people. They look nice, but you soon realize they mean absolutely nothing and are causing you to have a lack of privacy because cameras are always being pointed in your face when they are around. If you are an award and you have “award” in your name, you are basically just admitting your inferiority. The Oscars at least try to make it seem like they matter. If the people behind this award really wanted us to care, then they would have at least tried to create some controversy surrounding it. This is just some Governor, and nobody in the school even knows who the governor is except for like three students, saying, “Yeah, this student did what they were supposed to do”-The Governor of Connecticut.

According to LOLHS student Ryan Harty, “The governor doesn’t even show up.” So even the governor, the person giving you this award, is not going to show up. As said in Macbeth,

“Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.”-Macbeth

But for awards instead of life. That would help my point more.

There Natalie, I wrote that article about your award. Are you happy now? Can I go back to reviewing movies?
