This past Saturday, the annual Eversource Hartford Marathon took place. Just as every year, volunteers from Community Service Club boarded a bus at LOLHS at 5:30 AM to head to the event. They were stationed at a water station at the 6-mile mark of the race, where they handed out water, Gatorade, and Gu to the nearly 4,000 runners that passed by. All the volunteers eagerly cheered runners on as they passed, from the first to the very last. Even after the last runner passed, their hard work didn’t cease, as everyone worked hard to clean up. A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped at the race and congratulations to Lyme- Old Lyme’s very own Mrs. Duhamel and Mrs. Saia for running in the Marathon!
