benevolent silence of the mind

my vision is red and swollen;

I’ve lied awake,

wide awake,

with you in my

conscious gaze.

I wander through our garden.

timid daffodils of spring begin again;

soon I waltz through summer sunflowers

and autumnal mums.

The aroma of new soil,

vaporized,

into velvet clouds with subdued edges

glowing in the light of our loving sun.

Your visage in my vision;

whispers clasped between our palms;

honey on our tongues;

benevolent silence of the mind…
