Superintendent's Reaction to LOLHS's Impressive National Education Rankings

As you may have heard, last week LOLHS was ranked on US News and World Report’s “Best High Schools” list, coming in at #429 nationally and eighth in the state. By being ranked at #429 in the country, and therefore as one of the top 500 schools in the country, LOLHS earned US News and World’s Report highest honor of a gold medal. Upon hearing of this remarkable news, Superintendent Ian Nevaiser commented to LymeLine; “Congratulations to the students, staff and community for yet another honor for this incredible institution. This is an honor for not only the high school, but the entire Pre-K through 12 program and the students, staff and community that make it so strong.” Based on its Connecticut rating, LOLHS scored the highest out of any school in New London County, with only two other schools receiving state-wide ranking: Waterford High School (#41) and Fitch (#43).  Other shoreline schools received respectable awards: Guilford (#22), Daniel Hand in Madison (#29), and Old Saybrook (#30). This is such an amazing accomplishment for LOLHS. Kudos to all the students and administration that aided in LOLHS’s earning of such a monumental title!
